About
Amanda
We all struggle, and should not be ashamed or embarrassed to look for support. However, messages from our family, friends, society, or ourselves - or negative past experiences with reaching out - might make us reluctant to take steps towards care. I appreciate and respect the courage and vulnerability it takes to make the choice to seek help.
As a clinical psychologist, I understand the complex feelings, motivations, and challenges that you may face when you choose to seek help. However, I believe that you are the authority on your own experiences, and that the true transformative power of therapy lies in us working together to provide you with the insight, healing, and compassion that you deserve.
I aim to foster a warm, patient, and accepting environment that allows our relationship and our work together to grow. I am collaborative in my approach and will encourage us to inquire deeply together; however, I also liberally use humor and try not to take myself too seriously. I believe you deserve to interact with a person, not a role or a persona, and that authenticity, informed by thoughtfulness and wisdom, is extremely important to the process.
